Do I need a landline for my ADT-monitored security system?

When considering home security systems, ADT monitoring offers two choices:

Landline Security System

A landline security system uses your home telephone line to connect with the company’s monitoring center. It’s important to also consider a cellular connection as a backup source if your line experiences a power outage. Your home phone line will serve as the main communication channel between your home and ADT monitoring centers, but if an outage occurs the cellular connection takes over, ensuring you have a way to contact help at all times.

ADT realizes that many homeowners don’t have a home phone line, opting instead for a cellular device as their main form of communication. A security system with no landline connection typically uses cellular technology to communicate with the security company’s monitoring center.

Thanks to advanced technology, you can take full advantage of ADT monitoring with Cellguard®.

Whether you’re looking for a home security system with or without a landline connection, ADT has representatives at six monitoring centers standing by to help you find a security package that fits your needs.
